Lessons from Atlanta’s “Snowpocalypse”

A little something to think about for all my urban policy junkies….What are your thoughts after reading this article by Rebecca Burn of Politico Magazine, The Day We Lost Atlanta?

 Will the recent poor emergency response in Atlanta lead to serious discussions about Consolidation, a contentious subject for many municipalities in the Southeast. So many towns and counties make up the ATL metro area. Administratively, would this have been a better effort had the municipalities been consolidated?

How about a deeper look at Regionalism; the practice of planning for a regional area in cases of emergency and shared infrastructure. I’m neither pro nor against. What are your thoughts?
